Wednesday Conditioning Sessions

08/02/2009

For those who want to get fit or keep fit, and become stronger at the same time, we are running some conditioning sessions on Wednesday evenings, beginning on the 11th of this month. These will involve a range of exercises and training drills which will work all areas of the body and aim to develop it so that it is more able to withstand the types of movements involved in parkour and tricking.

The sessions will be pretty tough, but they are aimed at all levels of ability, so if you are a beginner don’t be put off, it will be very beneficial. It will generally last about an hour and a half but there are no strict finishing times. Each week we will meet at 18:30 outside the main entrance to the bus station and we will move on from there, so you need to be on time otherwise you may miss us and the all important warm-up. We hope to see you there. If you have any questions, fire away.

We Are Showreel

06/02/2009

Here’s a new video, courtesy of Maxx, incorporating a heap of footage from the past year or so; some we’ve seen before, most we haven’t, but in all it signifies how far we’ve all come and how much the community has developed.

With so many exciting activities out there; water-skiing, bungee jumping, circus acrobatics, poker, or even fire-eating, there’s no end to the thrills you can have. However, there is something addictive about free running. The liberty and the challenge of it is irresistible. The training it demands, the rush of adrenaline and achievement you feel when you make that jump - there’s nothing like it.

Not to say that free-runners members don’t have other hobbies and interests on top of that. Other activities might range from travelling to swimming, partypoker uk to singing and everything in between. It is just that there is nothing that gives a kick quite like free running. You have to try it, or at least watch it to understand. Come try it out with the HFR community. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming, and we push each other to reach for the very best of our abilities. Check out the video
